Can I cut metal with a hand saw?
Please don’t try to cut metal or very hard materials (plastic, tile, etc.) with classic hand saw. Find yourself a good hack saw which is designed and made to cut metal. Other materials may require specialty saws such as tile. A tile cutter is recommended for cutting tile, research online or visit a tile for help finding the right tile cutter.
I have a folding saw, what do I use it for?
Folding saws are great tools for wood cutting projects that do not require precision cutting, or very fine cuts. An example of a good use for a folding saw is trimming small tree or shrub branches that are typically 2″ or less in diameter. We like folding saws! Due to their folding capabilities the sharp blade is usually covered, i.e. a great Safety First feature. They are are smaller making them easier to transport.
When do I choose a hand saw instead of a power saw?
